Driving forward from this rightmost lane is NOT
ALLOWED. This is a turning lane,
and is indicated earlier
in the lane by a sign. The sign is highlighted in the image below. It shows that the only direction from there is to the right. The sign means the driver MUST turn right, the turn is not optional. ![]() |

Make sure when changing lanes you pay attention to all
signs. Inattentive driving can cause the sign to be missed.
The problem with this mistake is that drivers familiar with the intersection and turning in the direction shown by the red arrow below, will not necessarily check or expect vehicles approaching from the direction of the yellow arrow. The mistake is likely to cause collisions because the distance between the two positions is too close and there isn't enough time to allow for corrections. ![]() |
